Club-racer: 1960 Austin Healey Sprite
States-side, there is a big vintage racing scene. One of the Team Thicko Austin Healey vintage racing team cars seems to have made it across the pond. We have no idea about its racing palmares but it looks ready for some European circuit racing.
The engine is a bored out 1275 A-series engine which has been hotted up a bit to VSCDA spec. It has Kent cams and a Longman GT14 cylinder head. The engine bay looks immaculate. The car has a fuel-cell installed at the back, an aluminium radiator up front and loads of other racing bells and whistles. The painted Minilites look great on these Frogeye Sprites.
We are not sure if cars like these can be converted again for normal (read: legal) road use, but hey … Change the windscreen, shorten the roll bar and perhaps change the steering wheel for something a bit more vintage too. In no way change any of the decals though!
The car is for sale here out of Utrecht in the Netherlands for €18,500. It comes with loads of spares such as the original bonnet, 3 doors, gearboxes, rear diffs, etc.
