Rare: 1961 Cisitalia Abarth 850 Riviera TC
The new Fiat 500 has made the name Abarth hip again with the masses. It also means that old Abarth cars are hipper than ever and here is a very rare one for sale. It is a special edition of the Abarth 850 TC. They hardly come up for sale, but here is one we found in Italy.
It is being restored at the moment and is about a month away from completion. We’re not sure what the seller will want for it. Below though are a couple of pictures of a similar, complete car that was offered for sale in the US November 2006 for US$28000. We’re not sure if that one is still for sale but we doubt it. There is a keen market for these cars.
We’re not sure why the joint venture Cisitalia-Abarth was established which resulted in this car. The car is rear engined and comes with a 4-cylinder unit. The block and head are standard Fiat 600, all the rest is Abarth designed.
The car is for sale out of Bergamo on the Italian ebay. The pictures of the complete car below are just being used here as a library picture.
