Restored: beautiful 1959 MGA 1600
Wow! This MGA looks fabulously expensive in this colour combination. Maroon makes any car look a bit more expensive in our opinion. It looks stunning with the dove grey bodywork and the combination with the white-walled wheels make it undeniably stylish. But we’re afraid of the quality of the pictures, and we think the tonneau cover and the interior could just be red instead.
It has just been restored, and has matching numbers. Even though it appears to be on Dutch registration plates, the car is for sale here in Belgium for €31500.
1959 was the first year of the uprated engine. It came now with a 1600 pushrod producing 78bhp. The 1600 can be recognised by the separate stop/tail and turn lamps in the rear, and 1600 badging on the boot and the cowl. The engine bay looks immaculate. This is our favourite MGA so far. And … by far.
