welcome !

Classic cars are our passion. Driving our classic cars is an even bigger passion. But the internet is our addiction ... Just as we can drive for hours, we can surf the internet for hours on end. Always trying to find that special car for sale in some obscure little corner.

Three out of the blue: Reliant Scimitar SE4 Coupe (x3)

Update 16/9:  The white one didn’t meet reserve, the blue one sold for £820. The light blue one didn’t make any bids.

We must admit here at Classic Car Hunter, we have never seen one in the flesh. All of a sudden there are three of them for sale on ebay UK. One for restoration and two in pretty good nick judging the pictures available. Click on the photographs to go bring up the auction pages.

The most recent one is a 1971 beige Coupe powered by a 3-liter Ford Essex V6. It has a fresh MOT and looks pretty good judging the photographs. We’re not big fans of the sunroof and must admit that the car does look quite “plasticky”. It does have the nicest interior of all three cars.

Next is a pale blue 1965 with a 2.5-liter Zodiac engine. The engine was rebuilt and bored out and fitted with HS4 carburettors. We prefer the darker headlamp surroundings and grille over the first car. The car was restored during its life and needs nothing majorly done to it. The chassis is in tip-top shape accordig to the owner.

The third car is the restoration one but also the more interesting one. As you can see from the picture below there is a crack in the fibreglass body above the offside wheelarch. The chassis has some issues too meaning this car would need total restoration.

The engine was rebuilt with racing bits added to it like performance manifold, high lift cams, modified distributor, electronic ignition, etc. Also the suspension has been altered and the car stands on a nice set of five-spoke Revolution wheels. The car is complete and could be made into something nice in our opinion.
