Sunny autumn day driver: 1969 BMW 2800 Cabrio
With prices of the much-desired CSL version of the BMW E9 reaching silly amounts in some cases, demand for the other versions of this beautiful car will likely only increase. Here is a pretty unique 2800 CS that had some chopping and changing done to it. With pretty good result …
It looks nice in black, and we like the fact the owner hasn’t decided to go for the ever so popular Alpine turbine wheels on this particular car. Although these cars have both a very sporty and very stylish appearance, it is obvious the style route had to be followed here. It has been achieved nicely with these BBS-style wheels. And no chromed wheel arches either here, thank goodness.
The car is for sale here on marktplaats.nl out of Holland. EUR25000 is not a low price by all means, so you want to be sure the wheel wells, rocker panels and the windscreen frames are in order as they are the most rust prone areas on the E9.
The convertible hood design seems to be spot on and in line with the 4-seat coupe functionality of the original model. The interior looks very clean, but as on a lot of the cars we feature, we would change the steering wheel on this example for a CSL Petri one.
