Super-cool: 1967 Toyota Crown
Unfortunately there is not much information available on this car, but it is a super-duper 2-liter Toyota sedan from the sixties. These cars are very wanted in some corners of the globe, but not so much really in Belgium, where this one is up for sale. It has probably been imported from the US, but we wouldn’t want to bet our life on it since Toyotas were quite popular in Belgium in the sixties.
The car has been registered in Belgium, as the rear fog light and the fire extinguisher are legal obligations. Cars there do not come with registration plates. The owners stick their personal plates to the car.
We prefer the earlier second generation American Toyopet Deluxe cars with the round rear lights, but this one will do nicely. Although we would probably lower the car and put some nice wheels under it. And of course fit the obligatory rear view mirrors on both front wings.
The car comes with a 2-liter 4-cylinder which delivers about 115bhp. Later versions feature a 2.3-liter straight six engine, that went on to feature in the Toyota 2000GT. The engine bay looks tidy enough for a car that old. The interior looks mint and we really dig the gearstick and how it comes out of the tunnel.
Though the car looks pretty good in the pictures, it seems some surface areas of the bodywork are a bit flat. We would love to own this car. It is for sale here out of Limburg, Belgium for EUR4500, which is not half that bad considering the exclusivity factor.
