We featured one of these cars back in September 2008. Another one has come up for sale, again in Italy. Rome to be more precise. It seems like someone started the restoration but has decided to pass on the opportunity. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to mention a price.

It is in hindsight quite remarkable that this car was fitted with a 1400cc engine. It was after all a direct competitor to the mighty Range Rover. Saloon comfort but capable of conquering rough ground, you could say the Talbot Rancho became very popular as one of the first SUV/MPVs and at quite a discount to the Range Rover actually. Less than half the money.

There is not really another car where chrome wheelarch extensions work so well than on the BMW Coupé. Maybe it is because of the combination with the rest of the chrome detailing on the car. Maybe it’s because the chrome contrasts nicely with the dark blue paint. We love these cars, and this one in particular ticks all our boxes.

We came across this special Ferrari on a website in Italy last week. It goes by the name Conciso and originated as a styling exercise by the German studio michalakDESIGN. It got its inspiration from the 1950s Barchetta cars. We emailed the seller, or must we say “alleged” seller and asked for a price. It was a lot. And he didn’t have the car.

15/1: We have been informed the car has been sold.
From 12/1:
For sale in the area around Calais in the north of France is this 1973 Fiat 124 Abarth that needs completing. This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone to acquire one of the homologation versions of these rally icons of the 1970s. We are very tempted ourselves to buy the car and we can see this car gone in no time.

We’ve covered a few Morettis before, and we must admit that we quite like his cars. He was quite an enterprising character really, he set up his own company at 21 years of age. He built cars based on Fiats and you’ll be hard pushed these days to find two identical cars as lots of them had little differences. And you’ll be VERY lucky to see another one of these come up for sale. It’s a Moretti 2500SS Coupé based on the Fiat 2300. We’ve only known a 2500SS Spider come up for sale on ebay UK a couple of years ago.

16/1: The M3 sold with a Buy-It-Now not surprisingly.
From 9/1:
The auction for this mint looking Beemer has less than 24 hours to run, and with the price only a grand under the Buy-it-Now price there is still a bargain to be had. Even though this car has nearly 90000 miles under the belt, from the pictures it looks absolutely stunning. Like a true wolf in wolfs clothing.

For some, there are definitely positives to the current economic downturn. Some pretty amazing and unique automobiles are coming onto the market. But we don’t think economics has anything to do with this Lancia Special coming up for sale. It is a Lancia Beta Coupé chopped and changed into a Group 4 rally machine. Add some of the most widely recognised livery schemes into the mix and you get a really nice looking car that nobody else has.

Update 16/1: The car didn’t meet reserve with 27 bids and EUR9062
From 3/1:
This is an unfinished project. The seller, who has 20 years experience as a car painter, has to let go because of health problems. He also has more than 11 years of experience with extreme tuning projects, and by God … it shows. What a monster Group 5 Ford racer he’s created! Fantastic!

Update 1/6: the car sold in Monaco at the Bonhams Les Grandes Marques auction for £137,632.
Update 3/1: The owner has put the car here on ebay UK for GBP139000 or best offer.
Update 30/10: The red Spider at RMauctions sold for GBP181500. A bit below our expectations
From 29/10:
With the credit crunch starting to bite left, right and center, more classic cars are coming onto the market. And the people with the money seem to be increasingly looking at blue chip classics as an investment alternative. Some pretty unique cars are changing hands at the moment. Two weeks ago, a 1955 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider America sold for GBP247,500 at auction and quite amazingly today another 1954 B24 Spider America is going under the hammer at RM Auctions in Central London with an in our opinion very conservative estimate.
