Turbocharged: 1976 BMW 3.0CS Coupé
There is not really another car where chrome wheelarch extensions work so well than on the BMW Coupé. Maybe it is because of the combination with the rest of the chrome detailing on the car. Maybe it’s because the chrome contrasts nicely with the dark blue paint. We love these cars, and this one in particular ticks all our boxes.
It’s been restored six years ago. Not sure how extensive the car has been restored underneath, so we would probably take it to a specialist to have it checked out. Sill repairs on these cars are quite serious money as they consist of three pieces per side. The pieces alone add up to GBP2000.

One of the attractions of this car lies under the bonnet though. The standard output of these cars is about 180bhp. This particular one has been souped up with a turbocharger. Good for 300bhp. Nice! Mechanically, the car should be able to live with that amount of power, as all gear was used on the 635 a decade later. Saying that, the seller has flagged the brakes are pulling the car a bit to the left. Bushes that need replacing? Brake claw needs rebuilding maybe? Hopefully something superficial.

From what we can see on the pictures, the beige leather interior looks great. Sometimes it is so easy to get the seat size proportions wrong. Not sure what the deep dish alloys are but they complement the car very nicely. The car is for sale here out of Holland for a mere EUR7000. Bargain in our opinion.

Is this car still for sale?
