The car has been stripped of everything unnecessary. A lightweight shell by Dale Edmonds Racecar Composites has been fitted on a 1971 chassis. The panels are bonded-in steel, with doors and inner wings in aluminium. It has all new joints, bearings and bushes and has been fitted with a Vansteel handling kit. Everything needed for braking has been rebuilt or fitted brand new. Steve Woolhouse from All American Spares has worked his magic on the transmission and engine. The tranny has been fitted with a Centre Force clutch. Shifting happens with a Hurst Indy shifter and the limited slip diff has been rebuilt.

The engine is a 283ci unit, with forged crank, forged pistons, power pack head, Crane solid lifter cam, Holley high rise, 4 barrel Holley and a ZR1 radiator. This would have been an original engine towards the end of the 50s. This V8 delivers around 220bhp standard. Don’t know if the owner had the car rolling road tested.

It still needs a couple of little things fixing like the rev counter needs connecting, speedo needs wiring up. The  cooling system needs a bit of work. But this will be quite a bargain for someone. Not sure why the engine choice, maybe one of you can enlighten us? The car is for sale out of Hertfordshire, through an Ebay advertisement, not an auction. The seller wants GBP12000 for it.

We like the colour orange on older cars. It gives older cars a more modern look without being too contemporary, if you know what we mean. Maybe not … well anyway … This Jaguar race car looks absolutely stunning in orange. It has been completely rebuilt and is even road legal.

The car has been used as a historic touring car and has just seen a complete rebuild. Loads of things have been modernised. Marcus Barclay, the Jaguar specialist from Bucks, worked his magic on the engine to JEC racing spec. It has been fitted with extravagant orange cam covers. It has also been fitted with a rebuilt gearbox and differential, all of which has only been used on the road. The Jag features uprated competition brakes and independent suspension. As you can see in the pictures below, it has a new alloy fuel cell.

We really dig this car. We like the fact all chrome has been replaced with black rubbers without compromising the elegance of the car. Not sure though about purchasing it for ourselves without making it a bit less rudimentary. It would be a bit more like for example a Coombs Mk II. Or at least with a few more seats.

For sale on ebay UK out of New Malden near Kingston upon Thames, with 4 days to go. Currently at just over GBP6000 with reserve not met.

The seller is no stranger for retro car forum enthousiasts as a lot of people probably have seen or heard his twin-engined Alfasud. We can only think he is selling the Beta to make way for some other project he is working on.  

The Beta has been stripped and seam-welded, and had a rollcage fitted. Then a foam-filled fuel tank was put in the front and the engine was moved onto a tubular frame at the back closed off with a steel lift-up rear.

The engine installed is an Alfa 3-litre V6 and delivers around 200bhp. We recall the seller planning to install a turboed 3-litre Alfa engine but might have been too difficult to source. The car is now obviously rear wheel drive and the suspension has a full coilover spring setup.

The Lancia is fully prepared for racing with all equipment like headsets etc in place. We know of the car racing its “sister”, the Alfa Bimotore at Santa Pod last year, but are not sure whether the car has seen any other motorsport action.  The car is for sale on ebay UK with a starting bid of GBP10000 out of Blackburn in the north of England.

This is an unfinished project. The seller, who has 20 years experience as a car painter, has to let go because of health problems. He also has more than 11 years of experience with extreme tuning projects, and by God … it shows. What a monster Group 5 Ford racer he’s created! Fantastic!

He took a 1974 Mk I Escort shell and pretty much changed every part that could be changed: wings, doors, scuttle panels, … All chrome parts and emblems were stripped off. Then the car was widened by about 5 centimeters. But the most impressive has to be the paint job. It is based on the Ford Capri 3100 driven by Jochen Maas. It is a Glasurit 2K-HS paint that’s been used: the blue is RAL 5005 signal blue and the white is the whitest white available. Whiter than white! And it shows, it’s really bright. But that’s not all, the car has been rust proofed. Every piece of steel’s edge has been treated with some stuff to stop it from rusting.

Every mechanical part has been changed with Motorsport-Technik parts. The screenwipers have been replaced by a one-arm system. The rear axle has been replaced with a Mk I Capri V6 unit, which is about 4.5cm wider. The rear diff has its own oil cooler. The tunnel has been widened for a 5-gear T9 gearbox. The wheels are 13″ BBS E30 Magnesium wheels, at the front 6.5″ deep and 8″ at the back.

Now you might have started wondering where the engine shots are. Well, the engine is the biggest part that still needs completion. The 2-litre OHC unit has been taken apart for coating and reassembly with all aluminium RS parts. It is fed by a four branch intake manifold with twin 40 Dellortos. Samco hoses have been provided as well. But as mentioned it still needs putting together and fitting into the car. A custom made Powersprint exhaust system also needs fitting. There is some small bits like an analogue clock and a display for the diff oil temperature that need fitting into the dash. But it’s pretty much there otherwise. 

The car is for sale here on German Ebay out of Dülmen, which is above Dortmund in the west of Germany. This is the nicest Escort we’ve seen. We are pretty sure it will draw a lot of attention, and not only on the internet …

At first sight, the two cars look fairly identical. Then you start noticing little details on the outside like rear brake air vents, lug pattern. The Dutch car doesn’t give too much away what it looks like on the inside unfortunately. What both cars do have in common though, is that they have been put together from a couple of different cars to enable a correct-angled windscreen. They have also been shortened. 

The biggest difference is undernearth though. While the Dutch Audi features a recent 4.2-litre V8 from the S4 and running gear from the S2, its English cousin sports the 2.3 10v turbo engine, with the original 5-speed quattro transmission. It features a custom Autocraft exhaust and we think sound could be better on the Enlish car. 

The English car is for sale from a classic car restorer/tuner/dealer out of Telford, Shropshire UK and can be found here on ebay. Last thing to mention: one will be left hand drive, the other one right hand drive of course!

We have found another Alfa GTA for sale, but this one is not a replica. This is a real Autodelta car that has been used for the Italian Hillclimb Championship between 1969 and 1975. It is a proper racer and it looks amazing. The price tag is accordingly.

We still like these cars more on the GTAm wheels but these four spoke golden Campagnolos come a close second. The side exhaust pipe is a great feature. We’d like to see more of the interior. It is also fitted with plexiglas all round. 

Quite unbelievably these cars were standard fitted with a 1300cc engine. Racing versions deliver about 180bhp. Great thing is the car only weighs around 740kg. 450 GTA Juniors were produced. We’re waiting for further spec on this particular car.

If you can’t wait for more details, the car is available for sale through GPS Classics out of Italy. The seller wants EUR100,000EUR130000 for the car.

In every roadtest the MGB Roadster features, the car comes out as rather boring and underpowered. These cars scream for upgrading, in our opinion. For us, the V8 engine swaps and rally (replica) versions are the ones to go for and we were well chuffed when we first set our eyes on the little thumbnail of this particular car on German ebay.

This car is an ex-UK car that was shipped to America some years ago and made its way back east to Germany. The seller mentions MG Motorsport and it makes us wonder if the MG dealer/tuner had any involvement in the building. There is a picture in the auction where it shows the original British registration R7DBL and of course the cars with rego 6DBL, 7DBL and 8DBL were well-known racing cars. Nice touch. We wonder if the registration would still be available if the car got re-registered in the UK. 

The car oozes with patina and we’re glad that the works tributes are not just showing in the cosmetics department. It has been fitted with a limited slip differential and panhard rods at the back. The brakes have been overhauled. The 1800cc engine is a later B type with five bearings and has a four-gear transmission, with no overdrive unfortunately. It all remains a bit vague what engine mods exactly have been done though. The car sits on Competition knock-off wire wheels.

The Roadster also comes with a brand new white hardtop with air vent on top. It is for sale out of Munich in Germany and as mentioned before is being auctioned on ebay Germany. 

It is based on a 1972 2000 GTV and is slightly different from the other body kits we’ve seen. It features a front and rear spoiler. Though we quite like the rear one, we’re a bit unsure about the front. Maybe the look could be improved by taking out the inner headlights.

We like the decals, the Vitaloni California rear view mirrors and the wheels which must be Gotti wheels. Although the car did have a rollcage, it has been removed according to the seller. The engine is a standard 2-liter fed by twin 40 carburettors that produces 131bhp. The seller has high lift cams and a twin 45 Dellorto setup for an extra EUR700.

The car is for sale on German ebay and can be bought by Buy-it-now for EUR8800. The bidding is already up to EUR6000, so don’t leave it too long is all we can say.

Race cars are nice. Every now and then we at Classic Car Hunter would see a nice race car and star thinking what a shame it is that you can’t drive it on the road. I guess it’s easier with replica cars and that’s why we like this Porsche 934/5 recreation. It is ready for the track but is also road legal.

The seller has done a nice job of collecting period and/or original parts and fitting them onto this car. He managed to find an original 935 roll cage, a homologation racing bucket seat, an original 935 rear deck lid with BIG wing.  

The engine and gearbox are both 930 Turbo. The engine has only recently been rebuilt by Autostrasse in Essex. It also comes with a front mounted oil cooler and a fuel cell. The car has a fully adjustable suspension.

The wing on the back is huge. In our opinion, it needs some white paint to make it look nicer. We would paint the lid white and leave only the actual wing in black. Some Martini Racing graphics like on the picture below would finish the car off nicely. The car is for sale on ebay UK for £28500 or part exchange ot of Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Ever since we first laid our eyes on this Fiat Dino Coupe, we have wanted it. The car features on a Dino website and quite often we would go and have a peek to see if it was still there.

Then last year, to our amazement, we discovered the car for sale on Autoscout24 but it got snapped up in no time. It was for sale at the time for €22000. Now, it has come back onto the market for €12000 here on anciennes.net out of France. We’re not sure about the reason for the sudden drop in price, but this could mean a nice deal for someone.

The stance and wheels are spot on. We absolutely love the aggressive front with the typically French yellow headlights. The air scoop on the polyester bonnet looks impressive. The engine is a 2-liter V6 which delivers around 190bhp. The exhaust tail pipe mounted on the side is a great feature. Vitaloni rear view mirrors are some of our favourites.

The car also comes with a roll cage welded in. The only thing that bothers us a bit is the massive Sparco bucket seats, they are massive!
