welcome !

Classic cars are our passion. Driving our classic cars is an even bigger passion. But the internet is our addiction ... Just as we can drive for hours, we can surf the internet for hours on end. Always trying to find that special car for sale in some obscure little corner.

Rare Beemer: 1965 BMW 3200CS V8 by Bertone

Update 26/2:  The Beemer didn’t meet its reserve at GBP8850 and has now been relisted. Links have been updated.

From 19/2:

For sale in Manchester in the UK is this lovely and pretty rare BMW 3200CS Coupe, designed by Bertone. This car was produced in between the legendary Type 503/507 and the 1960s 2800CS series. It was fitted with a V8 engine and capable of 125mph. Around 600 of these cars were produced.  It was based on the Type 503 chassis and is a very thin B-pillar, 2+2 coupe with an aluminium bonnet and bootlid.

On/off road: 1982 Talbot-Matra Rancho

It is in hindsight quite remarkable that this car was fitted with a 1400cc engine. It was after all a direct competitor to the mighty Range Rover. Saloon comfort but capable of conquering rough ground, you could say the Talbot Rancho became very popular as one of the first SUV/MPVs and at quite a discount to the Range Rover actually. Less than half the money.

Unmolested: 1989 BMW E30 M3

16/1:  The M3 sold with a Buy-It-Now not surprisingly.

From 9/1:

The auction for this mint looking Beemer has less than 24 hours to run, and with the price only a grand under the Buy-it-Now price there is still a bargain to be had. Even though this car has nearly 90000 miles under the belt, from the pictures it looks absolutely stunning. Like a true wolf in wolfs clothing.

Show winner: 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo

It is a pretty exclusive club you find yourself in when you own the ultimate 2002, the Turbo version. Only 1671 of them were made between 1973 and 1975, around 1000 in Chamonix white and about 600 in Polaris Silver. But it’s more exclusive than that as quite a few ended up wrapped around trees as they “suffered” from serious turbolag.

Safety buy: 1974 Bricklin SV-1

Over the years, there have always been wealthy businessmen who had a go at starting their own car manufacturing. Malcolm Bricklin was a millionaire who made his money from plumbing and from importing Subaru into the US. His factory though was never able to produce cars fast enough to keep the company going. Only about 2,800 cars were built and about 1,000 are believed to survive. This white one has come up for sale in Holland.

1 of 30: early 1960s APAL Porsche Coupé

In the fifties and sixties it was pretty common to get a good chassis and then to put a specially designed body on it, and not just in Britain or Italy. Two Belgians got together in Liège in the fifties and started designing cars on a Beetle chassis. They formed the company APAL and went down the glassfibre route.

Info needed: Fiat 1100 TV by Boano (tuned by Giannini?)

Giannini is another one of those Italian car builders that started with tuning and modifying cars for competition use. They are most famous for the Giannini version of the Fiat 500, which was very successful in competition and sold more than the Fiat 500 Abarth. Here we found a coupé for sale in Naples, Italy, most probably based on a Fiat 1100.

Rare: 1955 Fiat 1100 Giardinetta by Viotti

For sale in Italy are these 2 pretty unique Fiat 1100s. They are Giardinetta versions by the coachbuilder Viotti. It was quite a mission to find some information about these cars, but thanks to AlfaBB, a few readers sent in pictures and specification.

Brand new: 1986 VW Scirocco GT

Another interesting car for sale in Belgium is this 1986 VW Scirocco with only 11.000 kms from new! The current owner is only the second person to own the car and he stored it in 1996 in a heated garage until very recently. He says it didn’t take much to get it driving again.

Unrestored: 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Berlina

Update 19/10:  Quite surprisingly, this car is now for sale here for EUR14500 from the same owner. You would think prices get lowered when cars don’t sell.

In Italy we have found this lovely unrestored, one-owner, fifties Berline. It dates from 1957 and is a nice pale yellow. It is a Giulietta Berlina and was the second car to be released on Alfa’s Giulietta platform.
