As soon as we spotted this car for sale we knew it had been designed by Giugiaro. He designed it when working for Bertone. It looks more like some Italian luxury sedan rather than a Japanese Mazda, or Luce as these cars were known as back in the land of the rising sun. Between 1965 and 1971, more than 120,000 of these Mazdas were produced. Australia would be your best bet to find one these days though …

Unfortunately there is not much information available on this car, but it is a super-duper 2-liter Toyota sedan from the sixties. These cars are very wanted in some corners of the globe, but not so much really in Belgium, where this one is up for sale. Only about 2,800 cars were built and about 1,000 are believed to survive. This white one has come up for sale in Holland.

Update 12/10: We have received more pictures of this car from the owner. Email us if you’re interested.
In some parts of the world, these little cars are close to reaching cult status, not in the least because of a talk show celebrity called Jay Leno producing this little video. Last month, a silver coupe came up for sale in the UK and didn’t sell. We still don’t really understand why not. These cars have “cool” written all over them.
